The boiler house has been filled with water. A voluminous silk dress falls from the roof, reflecting in a dark pool of water that covers the floor. Delicate sound and light &nbsp;create a meditative atmosphere. And a&nbsp;little boat carries visitors across the water.&nbsp;It seems as close as you can get to being inside a myth.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/makeandbelieve.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/yohji-making-waves-wapping-project-small.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"244\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/makeandbelieve.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/yohji-making-waves-wapping-project-small-244x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-353\" srcset=\"https:\/\/makeandbelieve.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/yohji-making-waves-wapping-project-small-244x300.jpg 244w, https:\/\/makeandbelieve.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/yohji-making-waves-wapping-project-small.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 244px) 100vw, 244px\" \/><\/a><figcaption>Yohji Making Waves &#8211; The Wapping Project<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>On Sunday 10 July I will tell the mysterious myth of <em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.franceslincoln.com\/en\/Book\/1264\/Persephone.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Persephone<\/a> <\/strong><\/em>in this other-worldly space. Performances will last 15 minutes, and will be repeated over the day. The story will be told from the boat, for small groups of audience standing on the pier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The installation conjures images of Hades &#8211; the Land of the Dead &#8211; and a girl taken underground. &nbsp;My story will evoke Persephone&#8217;s journey across the dark River Styx, to be Queen of the Underworld. But no one returns from The Land of Dead &#8211; how can Persephone ever come back?&nbsp;The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whatsinwapping.co.uk\/johji-making-waves-wapping-project-21032011\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">installation <\/span><\/a>is the perfect setting for this story.
